Interlibrary Loan

Interlibrary loan (ILL) is a service that provides access to books, DVDs, journal articles, and more that are not available at the B.F. Hamilton Library. This service is available to all current FC students, faculty, and staff.

Requests

ILL requests are processed Monday – Friday during normal business hours, 8 am – 5 pm.  In general, there is no set time as to how quickly materials can be obtained. Typically, an article request averages 3 days, while book (and other physical items) requests average 9 days. Use the Interlibrary Loan Request Form to request an item through ILL.

ILL Pickup

Most articles will be delivered electronically to your email. Physical items, such as books and DVDs can be picked up at the Circulation desk in the library; an email will indicate its arrival.

Loan Periods

Loan periods for books, DVDs, and physical items, are at the discretion of the lending library. Loan periods can range from a few weeks to multiple months.

Renewals

Books, DVDs, and other physical items obtained through ILL may be available for renewal. However, these renewals are at the discretion of the lending library. Send an email to ill@franklincollege.edu to request a renewal. Please request a renewal a few days prior to the item’s due date.
