Who can use ILL?
ILL is provided FREE of charge to all current Franklin College students, faculty, and staff, as long as materials are returned on time and in the condition they were received.
What is ILL?
If the Hamilton Library does not have an item that you need to use for research, we try to get it. Most often, we can get it from another library.
What can I get through ILL?
Books, journal or newspaper articles, audio visual materials, etc. Books that are owned by the library, but are currently unavailable, may be requested through interlibrary loan.
How do I make an ILL request?
Requests can be submitted using the ILL form above.
How long will I have to wait for my ILL?
ILL requests are processed Monday-Friday. It could take anywhere from 1 day to 2 weeks. Articles typically come in more quickly than books, videos, and audiobooks.
How do I pick up my ILL?
When the requests are received by the library, you will be notified by email. Books can be picked up at Circulation during library hours. Articles will be delivered by email.
How do I return my ILL?
Returnable items (generally books, videos, and audiobooks) received through ILL must be returned to Circulation by the date indicated on the book strap.
How do I renew my ILL?
Email ILL@franklincollege.edu if you need to keep your material beyond the original due date. You should make the request a few days beforehand to allow the lending library time to respond. NOTE: There is no guarantee that the time extension will be possible.
